PUBLIX Savings!!!

Ok if you are like me with a bunch of hungry mouths to feed then you will love the deals when you use coupons on a sale! My favorite by far is Publix and CVS deals. If you head over to my hubby's site , you will see an abundant amount of ways to save!

Last week with Publix we saved $195 and only spent $54!! How do we do it you ask, well I will break it down so that it is easy to follow. I was once clueless on how people could save so much just with using coupons.

First, you want to collect as many Sunday coupon inserts as possible. Try to get an even number that you can use on BOGO( Buy 1 get 1 FREE) deals. There are some creative ways to get inserts. Some ways would be from friends and family, church, recycling bins, or you can buy however many papers you would need for the inserts. Organizing them is the key to have access to your coupons so you can get your list done quicker. I organize mine with a plastic milk crate storage box and put the hanging file folders in it, then date the tab edges to correspond with each week of inserts. You will want to date each of your inserts with a marker or pen on the front page. Some people just read the binder edge to see the date(that is where you will find the date BTW). The weekly inserts you will see referred to as SS=Smart Source, RP=Red Plum, and PG=Procter and Gamble. There will be special inserts as well so be on the lookout! Again if you are confused check out my hubby's site for more details on abbreviations and deals.

The second thing to know is that you can use more than one coupon per item. Most stores let you use a store(publix, cvs etc) plus a manufacture coupon and also a competitor coupon ( you will need to check with your store to see who they consider a competitor). Take a look at the following deal idea and I will walk you through it.

Yoplait Fiber One Yogurt, Assorted Varieties, 4-pk, 4-oz cup, BOGO $2.50/2
-$1/1 from 10-04-09 SS This would be a coupon in the Smart Source insert from 10/4
-$1/1 Better @ Home Insert 9-13-09 & 10-4-09 This is a special insert from 9/13 & 10/4
-$1/1 PRINT & PRINT These you can print if you don't have the inserts
-$1.25/1 PRINT Another printable.
=FREE!! (best buy) This deal would be FREE if you print out 2 of the $1.25 coupons!! If you can't print that coupon then use 2 of the $1/1 inserts and you still would only pay .50 for 2 4pks of yogurt! Still an awesome deal!

Remember even on BOGO deals you can use up to 3 coupons per item as long as the coupon is for 1 item like $1 off of 1. Now if it says $1 off of 2 you can then use 1 of those plus a store coupon and a competitor coupon if you can find them.

Hope you found this information helpful! :-)
